Artist Residency at MBC Arts Wellbeing

We are delighted to share with you that we have secured funding from Arts Council England to provide three artists with a nine-month residency and two-month exhibition here at MBC Arts Wellbeing.

This opportunity is an invitation to three neurodiverse artists aged 16-25 years old, who are based in Sunderland to develop their creative practice through an artist residency and to showcase a new body of work in an exhibition. We are keen to work with emerging artists who have not had a vast range of paid work within the creative sector and are looking for an opportunity to progress their career. This is a great opportunity for a current college/university student or recent graduate. We are keen to work with three neurodiverse artists and we encourage applications from people with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, hyperlexia and other forms of neurodivergence.

We are able to offer this opportunity to three artists thanks to support and funding from Arts Council

England. Throughout the residency you will gain support from MBC Arts Wellbeing to develop your skills and build your brand. We are also working with a digital curator and visual mapping specialist, enabling your work to reach additional audiences online. Artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work at Hills Arts Centre, a new creative hub in the heart of Sunderland city centre.
