Beginner's Christmas Inspired Home Fragrances Course 12/10/23 9:30am-4:30pm

We are delighted to bring you the newest home fragrances course from our range of free creative courses for County Durham residents. Our courses have been designed to develop creativity, improve wellbeing, advance functional skills and provide people with an opportunity to take part in a range of highly sought-after creative experiences.

This course gives you the chance to create a range of stunning Christmas inspired home fragrance products – including natural soy wax and essential oil candles, beautiful room fragrance diffusers, and nourishing soaps, wax melts plus much more. You will begin by learning how to create your very own soy wax candles, creating two candles using a range of delightful Christmas scented fragrances. You will also learn how to create two stunning room diffusers, before moving on to the technique of making soaps. You will get the chance to create 400 grams of exfoliating soaps, as well as essential oil and fragranced soaps – using a range of natural exfoliants, oils and bases. You will also use mica powder to experiment with creating richly multi-coloured soaps and candles. During the sessions you’ll work with a range of high quality natural materials as well as specialist tools and equipment. Everything is included in the course – from materials, to tools, to containers – even aprons! Just bring yourself and be ready to have fun and learn lots of new things. The items made throughout the course will make the perfect Christmas gifts for loved ones or they will leave your home looking and smelling warm, inviting and festive, should you choose to use them yourself. 

There is a quick turnaround time for our courses, so we are keen to engage with those who are committed to completing the course in full and attend each session. The course will take place at Horden Youth & Community Centre in Peterlee, SR84LH. The course will run for four weeks with sessions taking place on Thursday 12th October, 19th October, 26th October and 2nd November all from 9:30am-4pm. 

Entry requirements for our courses are as follows –

You must live in County Durham.

You must be aged 19+.

You can be unemployed, working or retired to take part in our courses.

You must have the right to reside in the UK.
