About the Event
Batik is an ancient Indonesian art form using fabrics, waxes and rich coloured dyes to create beautiful fabric art works. Come and learn how to create your own stunning designs and motifs, then transfer them to fabric and begin this ancient process. You will use hot waxes, dyes and resist techniques to create bright, colourful works of fabric art to be proud of. On the course you can choose whether you'd like to make a fabric wall hanging, handmade cushion covers, or your own bespoke piece. This course will take inspiration from the natural world in winter, and new life; focusing on the rich and varied colours, textures, and themes of the chilly but beautiful winter months and the coming signs of spring all around us in the landscape.
