Mason Jar Candle Holder Workshops
Time & Location
About the Event
Come and join us this June and have a go at creating your very own mason jar candle holder. Immerse yourself in the centuries-old history and craft of blacksmithing right here in our traditional forge, situated in the city centre with our resident blacksmith Darren. During the workshop, Darren will be on hand to provide you with his expertise and guide you through the processes and techniques of bending and spreading the round steel bar used to create your candle holder. Heating the steel on the flames of the traditional forge, you will then use specialist equipment to hammer and flatten the hot steel onto the anvil allowing you to craft and perfect the candle holder into your desired shape and ensuring you leave the session with a truly unique and special piece, that is sure to grab everyone’s attention. Not only will this workshop provide you with an incredible take-home piece, but it also gives you an insight into the fascinating and wonderful world of blacksmithing.
This is a brand new blacksmithing workshop and we anticipate it will be very popular. Please note that we are not able to offer refunds for this event if a refund is requested within seven days of the event date.
Sessions will be held at The Forge, Back 28 Norfolk Street, Sunderland, SR1 1EE (car parking is available at Nile Street Car Park directly behind our site).
Darren has put strict Covid-19 policies in place during the workshops and he has reduced the number of people per session to five to reduce the risk of coronavirus.
Due to the health and safety measures put in place, you must be over 4"11 tall and be over 11 years of age.
Refunds and Cancellations - we are unable to offer refunds, cancellations or change the dates of your tickets within seven days of the scheduled event taking place.
