FUSED GLASS WORKSHOPS
Come along and take part in one of our seasonal fused glass workshops with a professional artist. Learn the different techniques used with glass pens, how to colour using frits and how to paint the surface directly to create eye-catching designs.

REED DIFFUSER WORKSHOPS
Make your home smell amazing with a handmade natural oil diffuser. On this workshop you’ll be supported by an experienced tutor who will introduce you to the history of reed diffusion and help you to identify the different essential oils by smell alone. After this you’ll create your own bespoke scent and diffuser bottle to take home with you.

GLASS FOILING WORKSHOPS
Glass foiling is an ancient practice that has been used throughout history to create items such as the stunning stained-glass windows that adorn many Churches. We have tutors at hand here who know just how to use this technique to create a variety of different decorative items including sunlight catchers and wall hangings.

SOAP MAKING WORKSHOPS
Learn how to make 100% natural, fragrant soaps to use at home or give as gifts in one of our fantastic soap making workshops. In this class you will learn about the different moulding and pouring methods, how to identify the various essential oils used to fragrance the soaps, and the range of exfoliants that you can use in a bar of soap.

Working with our in-house blacksmith Darren, come along and try your hand at our traditional forge where you can create your own stunning metalware to bring home. Learn how to hammer, tack, bend and forge from a professional. Darren hosts a variety of year-round and seasonal workshops where participants have made items such as Remembrance Day Poppies, Christmas baubles, Valentines Kissing Horseshoes, bottle openers, knives and many other exciting items both decorative and practical.

CREATIVE WRITING COMMUNITY GROUP
Thanks to the National Lottery Reaching Communities fund, writers of all abilities are welcome to join our creative writing group where we have a local published author on hand to provide suggestions and support in developing your own writing style. In addition to this you’ll get to meet similar minded people who can help you to develop your own ideas and share theirs too.
YOGA AND MEDITATION COMMUNITY GROUPS
People have been practicing the arts of meditation and yoga for thousands of years. They are well known for their uses in helping to reduce stress, control anxiety, promote well-being, improve sleep, manage pain, and provide a whole range of additional benefits for physical and mental well-being.

Come and take part in one of our one off ceramics workshops with a professional artist. You will learn how to hand sculpt clay, form 3D shapes, create textures using different surfaces and select the appropriate tools for cutting and shaping.
Students in the past have made front decorative plagues, day of the dead masks, animal sculptures and many other different items from clay.

KNITTING COMMUNITY GROUP
Our community knitting group hosted by Margaret gives you the opportunity to come into a relaxed and friendly environment to work on your knitwear. Here thanks to funding from the National Lottery Reaching Communities grant you’ll be able to have a cuppa and a chat whilst working on your own patterns or helping others. BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE (BSL) COMMUNITY GROUP
BSL was officially recognised as a language in 2003 and there are over 150,000 people across the UK who are registered deaf and hard of hearing. Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Reaching Communities Grant we are now able to offer opportunities to learn the basics of communication using this important and practical language. These sessions are taught by Riki who is both a barista and a level 6 qualified BSL instructor with a wealth of experience.
